2021 Event Dates

As the situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold and the future of limitations is unknown, we have made the difficult decision to cancel TGIF events and Block Parties until further notice. We love these events as much as you do but hold great importance in keeping neighbors safe and healthy.

All current events are listed below:

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter bunny’s helpers hide candy filled plastic eggs on the playground of the Grand Rapids Christian Elementary School for residents of Ottawa Hills Neighborhood Association.

Neighborhood Garage Sales

Join your neighbors for a community garage sale day. Sell your old stuff and buy theirs! The sale will be advertised publicly as well.

Tree Planting – Saturday, April 17

Please join us starting at 9:00 AM to help plant 41 trees in our neighborhood. Meet at the corner of Cadillac and Seminole. Contact Jeff Shutz to help! (616) 540-3349 or

Garden Tour – Saturday, June 26

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM – Each year OHNA residents open their gardens up to the public for a free tour.

Hollyhock Lane Parade – Saturday, July 3

Dating back to 1934, this is the longest running parade in Michigan. For more details, here is the poster.

Neighborhood Cleanup & Dumpster Day – Saturday, July 10

The City of Grand Rapids sponsors a dumpster for large trash items for its neighbors.

Ice Cream Social – National Night Out – Tuesday, August 3

Halloween – Sunday, October 31

On Halloween night from 6-8pm, turn your lights on to welcome ghouls and goblins from near and far.

The dates for monthly Association Board Meetings are on Tuesday nights beginning at 7 PM on the following dates:
