Attached are the final plans submitted to the Planning Commission for the new school. GRCS has also outlined the improvements to Pontiac Field and surrounding property around the school. They include:

• Maintaining the existing southwest playground and stage
• Maintaining the existing southeast playground and pavilion
• Maintaining the existing southeast basketball court
• Relocate the southwest children's play courts within the southwest playground
• Remediation and resurfacing the existing track with asphalt, add lane markers and other track designations and
• running boundaries
• Creating a new soccer field within the center of the newly resurfaced track
• Repairing existing perimeter fence and add new as needed
• Irrigating grounds that the new school, including the new soccer field
• Improving pedestrian friendly atmosphere of the campus through:
  • new parent drop off and visitor parking areas
  • new walking paths around the new school
  • new bike racks
• Retaining and filtering all storm water on site including the use of rain gardens
• Adding new trees and landscaping around perimeter of the building and parking areas

These plans are within the timeline of the buildings completion. Most importantly I received assurances that the grounds, equipment and surfaces will be cared for and maintained.

Also, the fencing around the school went up today. Please be diligent in keeping an eye on the site. No one should be within the fenced in area. Not a huge deal now, but it will be when demo begins. Call the police at 456-3400 if there is a problem.
